Next, we found a Boy Scout tree lot. Cute little kids told me the difference between a Noble and Grand or whatever the different types were. They pulled out all the different ones. We were getting ready to leave when they pulled out the most beautiful tree I have ever seen. Seriously. I didn't care that it was like a million dollars more expensive than Home Depot. I had to have it. I also didn't really take into account it's size. We came home with it anyway. Here is our beauty:
My hubby worked hard on branch trimming!
As you can see, its not the tallest tree ever, but it is WIDE. I had to do some furniture moving. Then I pulled out the lights. I only had 3 strands. Not nearly enough to cover this baby. Back to Home Depot we went and bought a 200 light set. I also clearly didn't take into account that my tree skirt would be way too small for this monstrosity of a tree. Still debating if I should get a bigger one. Here is our decorated tree:
It has pine cones that I borrowed from Lake Tahoe a couple of years ago. I have never had a tree big enough to put them in until now. The pine cones will be returned some day. Maybe.
Also, the light set at the top of the tree is a different color than what is on the bottom. Oh well. Gives it character right?
And that was our crazy day. Now we are watching a show on people who go Griswold on their houses every year. The hubby is plotting the massive light show we will have someday.
Much Love,
